De Gully Gom, Eucalyptus smithii, behoort tot de Myrtaceae en komt oorspronkelijk uit Australië. In de laatste jaren wordt de Gully Gom, ook wel Smith Gom genoemd, steeds meer gebruikt voor het winnen van etherische olie uit de bladeren en twijgen. Vooral Zuid-Afrika en Zimbabwe zijn grote producenten. De etherische olie heeft in verhouding tot andere Eucalyptussoorten een laag cineol gehalte. |
